Hello Everyone!

Panda here, with my first tutorial on this website! One of many to come I'm sure! So it was World Book Day 2017 on Thursday, and I went as Annabeth Chase from Percy Jackson, which you may have read in my special world book day blog! I created her camp necklace by hand, and thought you may want to know how! Are you ready? Then let's read on...

You Will Need:

- 9 Wooden Beads (Spare may be needed)

- Leather Cord/Boot Lace

- Sharpies (Or some kind of marker pen)

- Scissors

- Paintbrushes

- Paint (Colours listed on step 1)

- Clasp (Optional)

- Metal hoop/circle/ring (Optional)

- Glitter (Optional)

- Wood Varnish/Gloss (Optional)

Materials

Step 1

Paint your beads! You'll need two white, one yellow, one grey, one blue, one light blue, one dark blue, one black and one orange.

Tip: It may help if you put your beads on some wire, then balance them in a cup!

Step 2

Leave your painted beads to dry on an old plate/some wire.

Step 3

You might want to practice your bead designs on paper before you do them on your beads! There are some set designs, others you can make up.

Bead 1: Pine Tree (set)

Bead 2: Centaur In A Prom Dress (set)

Bead 3: Ship On Fire (set)

Bead 4: Camp Fire (designers choice)

Bead 5: Trident (set)

Bead 6: Golden Fleece In/By A Pine Tree (set)

Bead 7: Titans Curse (optional/designers choice. Can also be put 5th)

Bead 8: Labyrinth (set)

Bead 9: Empire State Building (set)

Step 4

Next, if your beads are dry, it's time to start designing your beads! You can take as long as you want, no one is rushing you! If you feel like you can't do it, you could always get a friend, parent, carer or family members to help you! Make sure you use sharpie or some kind of marker pen so it will go over the paint!

Tip: For the black bead, turquoise marker pen won't go over the paint. So you may want to use a metallic gold, silver or bronze!

(I didn't get a photo for this step, sorry!)

Step 5

Now you've designed your beads, it's time to work on the 'chain'. Measure some of your leather or boot string round your neck. Keep it quite short, I cut mine to hang just below my shoulders.

Step 6

Thread your beads onto the cut leather.

Step 7 (Optional)

Now then, if your leather can fit through your clasp (or you don't have one) just tie it off and your done, if not, here's how to get round it!

Part 1

Get two of your hoop/circle/rings. Find the tiny gap, and place your fingers on either side. The left hand will move forward, while the right hand moves backwards. Be careful not to bend it out completely flat, otherwise you'll struggle to get it back into a circle.

Then thread it through the tiny hole in your clasp. You can close the ring back up by simply pulling your right hand forwards, and your left hand back. Do the same with the other one.

Part 2

Now you can pull your leather through your hoops and tie it!

And You're Finished!

I Hope You Enjoyed My First Tutorial!
